Hi, TwoBeeeeeeeeee! [:

Okay. Afew things you should need to know, you need to do.

-Ms Donna Koh would be taking over Tuesday's double english for Lit.
-Please hand in your 75th anniversary form if you're going orrrrrrr donating.
-And also, I've sent Teresa the ppt slides for history notes. So credits is not by me, by her. So thanks TERESA!! Thanks YiJing for posting up only and only Bio notes. Some feedback from people that you're scanned picture is blurry. So YiJing if you're reading this. Maybe, you could do something about it? Thanks.

Ps. History notes have mindmaps and ppt slides. If any one of you have the mindmanager software you can print it out on your own. Because Teresa have the the software, I've asked her to print out the mindmaps and tomorrow, she'll bring it to school and we can ask the photocopy lady to print out for us. If any of you dont want can easily disagree. Er, yeah. Thats about it. If there is wrong with the Bio notes please, point it out, or if there are missing notes also, please point it out. If any one of you are oh so nice, please put up Phy notes too! Hhahahaha. Or any notes you want, you may contact me for the account details.

Bio notes .
The notes that i'm posting will be on Chapters 3 and 4 only, cause Chapter 5 and 6 is on X_X , and Chapters 13~15 can be found in archives.
If any of you got important notes that i have not posted, please contact Ophe :D

Chapter 3: Transport.

Diffusion
-The net movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.
(E.g. Perfume sprayed in the bedroom will eventually be smelt in the living room as the molecules have moves by diffusion.)

Osmosis
-Net movement of water molecules from a solution of higher water potential to a solution of lower water potential across a partially-permeable membrane.
-Has to be about water.
-High to low water potential.
-Partially permeable membrane.

Transport in Plants
-Plants have 2 transport tubes called the xylem and phloem
-Xylem: Transports water & mineral salts from the roots to the leafs.
-Phloem: Transports food.
-Transpiration causes the "pull" that brings/moves the water and mineral salts up the xylem.

Transport in Animals
-Blood travels in blood vessels.
-Blood contains a mixture of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets suspended in a pale yellow liquid called plasma.
-Plasma: 90% water , transports water, dissolved food, waste products, minerals, antibodies, blood clotting proteins, hormones.
-Platelets: Broken pieces of cells that help to clot blood.
-Red blood cells: Bi-concave
No nucleus
Lives for 120days
Produced in the bone marrow
-White Blood cells:
Phagocyte
Digests bacteria
Lymphocyte
Produces antibodies that stick to bacteria to be
digested by the Phagocyte.

Chapter 4 : Digestion

-Food must be digested as most of the food that we eat consists on large, insoluable molecules such as starch,protein and fat that cannot diffuse through the cell membrane into our blood.
-These large and insoluable molecules have to be broken down into smaller soluble molecules which can then be absorbed into the bloodstream

Digestion: The process of breaking down food into smaller soluble molecules.

Enzymes
-Special types of proteins produced by our body for bringing about or speeding up certain chemical reactions in our body.

Dear 2B, you are reminded that your co-creation project is due tmr. My apologies for the late reminders, nevertheless, you still have to hand in your project rightt? Anyway, here's what expected of your project,
1. Do it in an A3 sized board
2. propose an idea on the improvements of an exsisting facility, OR installation of a new facility.
3. you can use pictures, photographs and words.

Critera for Evaluation
1. Need- to what extent does the proposal indentify a shortcoming of the school facility?
2. Function- how effective is the solution in meeting the identified need?
3. Aesthetics- how pretty is is the solution?
4. Cost- how cost effective is the solution?
5. Originality- to what extent is the solution original?
